YPG Los Angeles – “Past and Future: Enforcement in Transportation Reimagined”

February 11, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Traditional thinking in transportation safety has focused on the Three E’s, Education, Engineering, and Enforcement. As we’ve continued to see enforcement applied unequally and unjustly, we find that our reliance on armed law enforcement has not always resulted in safety for many marginalized populations. So as transportation professionals, what can we do about it? What role does technology, engineering, and innovation have in breaking our overreliance on enforcement?
Join YPG in a conversation with three experts on the topic to talk about enforcement’s role in transportation.
Our speakers are:

Makenzi Rasey, Director of Government Affairs, LADOT
Sahra Sulaiman, Communities Editor, Streetsblog L.A.
Ma’ayan Dembo, UCLA MURP 2020

The session will be led by our moderator:

Tiffany Huang, YPG Board Member, Engineer at Kimley-Horn

The Zoom link will be sent out to those who have registered. If you encounter any issues, please contact maya.bouchet@kimley-horn.com.
