Letter to Members
Dear ITS Colleague,
As we start 2013, I am honored to be once again serving as Chairperson of ITS California. Last year was another very successful year for our organization, highlighted by our Annual Meeting in September where we had over 240 people in attendance. More importantly, we were thrilled that this was double the participation from the last time we held our Annual meeting in Sacramento!
Our Northern and Southern Sections continued to hold productive and informative events in 2012. The Southern Section's workshops on ITS Research, Funding Opportunities and Parking were all very interesting and well attended. I am especially pleased to acknowledge the valuable partnership formed this year with our ITE counterparts where we worked together to host the “ITS Video Technologies” workshop in Los Angeles and “ITS for Active Transportation” and “Adaptive Traffic Control Technologies” in our Northern Section. We hope to continue such cooperation with ITE on more joint events in the future.
As an organization, this year we were also very pleased to offer a new scholarship opportunity for graduate students seeking degrees in ITS. We look forward to assisting those individuals seeking a career in this exciting field. To find out more information, please see information on this page.
The networking opportunity provided by membership in ITS California continues to be unparalleled and this year, we are proud to announce a new membership opportunity for the public sector. With your paid 2013 membership, Cities and government agencies with populations under 250,000, can take advantage of FREE registration to our Annual meeting, AND free registration for one employee to all Northern or Southern California Section Meetings.
For larger public and private organizations, we offer sponsorship opportunities, which provide enhanced visibility as well as FREE and reduced registrations for our Annual Meeting. Private sector members not wishing to commit to sponsorship can receive special discounted rates for our Annual meeting exhibits and participation in our very successful Vendor Technology Showcase, which will offered at this year’s Annual meeting.
